My name is Niall, Ive had OCD all my life.I am still not diagnosed with OCD. I am not comfortable with facing the doctors and taking medication etc.. I am too scared and afraid. When I was young my OCD started off with germ phobia, fear of getting germs from my family, I still have that phobia to this day.
When I was around 10yrs old my OCD went on to special routines going to bed, making sure my bed was set perfect and checking windows etc... It then on to washing my hands 3 times everytime I go to bed. From the year 2005 onwards my slowly became worse, like checking stuff etc..
In the summer of 2007 I done a lot of drinking and that caused my OCD mind to have a mental crash. Severe depression hit my mind like a tonne of bricks. That depression lasted for about 6 months and it was hell. I did not think I would survive that but I had hope and belived in God and myself to get through it, it was really bad. I still had the same old OCD for the rest of 2008.
In August 2008 my pure O OCD put my life at risk. It wanted me to jump off a cliff when I was hill walking. I stud at the cliff edge and had intrusive thoughts about junping off. I am not sucidal. I just spent that summer counting down the days to go on holidays to America in September. I loved it over there and had a great time in New York. After that my pure O became HOCD, I battled that untill Feb 09. But I am still suffering from pure O thoughts and images.

hiya sri only gettin bk 2 u now.. im ok havin 1 of my bad days 2day but i know il b ok soon :) yep sure am from ireland :)from westmeath :) em well i was diagnosd wid ocd at 17 i was doin my leaving cert and also had other problems goin on at home so it was very very stressfull wich probly brought on the toughts etc any way i didnt have a clue abou ocd and i was told about it from a few ppl but i still wantd 2 find out more info so i googled ocd and loads of info came up including this site so said id give it a go :) although i was a bit nervous coz u can get people on here that are just dossers and i find people like that make ocd worse :) but em if u want to kno any thing about my ocd feel free 2 ask . .i was actuli lookin at what u had wrote nd my ocd is very similar 2 urs includin HOCD . OCD is horrible but it makes u a stronger person ..have a read at some of my blogs any way especially my most recent ..hope i can help in any way Kayla :)
