HI to you this is Babs. Saw Homer on my page and had to write to you. Homer is a bit popular. My ex has a restaurant with a big animated Homer for the kids to watch. He sings. My kids used to watch the show too. So had to write. Hope you're feeling better. I wish I could find a good med to help me. I have kicked ocd one time and that's what I hope will happen again. Let me ask you if I may and you don't have to answer me just answer yourself privately. What kind of environment are you living? Is it a quiet place or stressful place? Does your family have any symtoms of ocd? I find that stress in an environment can aggravate the ocd, make it worse. Remember the thoughts are just that thoughts a part of ocd. I've had thoughts too. But mostly mine are counting, checking, depression. I do remember when I kicked this I was starting a new life almost on my own going back to school at 38 and it was great. The learning helped me somehow not check or go over things in my mind. So I hope this helps. I'm still having the checking and counting now and not good thoughts sometimes but someday it'll be over with. I continues to have my faith in God through Christ. My children don't have any symptoms. So take care and write anytime in my page.. Babs

Have a great, OCD free weekend! If you can't, at least try to kick it's butt a little!

My 19 year old son suffers from the same thing intrusive thoughts and images. My heart just aches for him. I'm trying to get him to not focus on the complete image he sees but to narrow his vision each time until he finally sees just a dot. Do try CBT therapy. He was put on so many different medications that he was thrown into mania and had to be hospitalized. We have tried every medicine out there. He is now on anafrinal, rispidol and abilify. He is coping better but it is a daily fight within his own mind. We keep looking ahead and are looking into deep brain stimulation. Hang in there if you would like to chat please let me know. I can relate.
