Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Fifth-year undergrad finishing up a double major in German and Philosophy at UBC in Vancouver, Canada. Amateur photographer, staunch atheist, hobby writer, multilingual, sufferer of terminal Wanderlust. Can be cynical, but mostly just sarcastic. Anxious all the time though I may be, I enjoy interacting with people, and generally get along- at least in casual circumstances -with most people I meet.

If I had a lifetime supply of milkshakes, I would drink it in a month with my ridiculously long straw. Is this a paradox? Maybe.

Oh, and about the OCD part, which I guess is probably very relevant to a community like this. I've exhibited symptoms for as long as I can remember, beginning around age 4-6 or so. I first suspected something might be amiss when I was about eight, but kept it on the down-low for fear of the consequences. As a result, I had a solitary and rotten childhood. I was finally diagnosed the first time when I was 16, after my OCD had become completely incapacitating. I've had my ups and downs since then, but it's still a daily struggle that I could not manage without intensive therapy several times a week and a king's ransom of medications. Aside from that, I've also been diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and depression. Yup, I'm more fun than a barrel of monkeys who all have ebola...
