I
watched
a
movie
tonight
with
my
kids
called
Nim's
Island.
I
picked
it
up
because
it
looked
like
a
good
family
movie
-
but
I
really
had
never
heard
of
it.
It
is
mainly
about
a
little
girl
and
her
father
who
live
on
an
undiscovered
island.
One
of
the
other
main
characters
is
an
agoraphobic
writer with
ocd who
corresponds
with
them
played
by
Jodie
Foster.
I thought
she did
a
good
job
of
portraying
her
character
with some
humor
without
dismissing
her huge
struggle
with the
anxiety she
felt.
My
whole
family
laughed
when
she
was making
an
attempt
to
leave
the
house
and
was
told
to come
out
and
"touch
the
world"
and
her
response
was "I
don't
want
to
touch
the
world,
it's
unsanitary!!!"
The
movie is a
little
unrealistic
about
how
soon
she
manages
to
leave
the
house,
but
all
in
all,
I enjoyed
her portrayal
of
the
character.
