After 5 months, I would guess it will take a while to kick in again and the side effects will likely happen.  I take zoloft, have done what you are doing, and it was all the same.   If you need a new med. b/c of side effects, talk to your dr. and make the switch. Or, just get back on what you were on if you know it works.  But one way or the other- do it!  (Today!)  Get it started in your system so you're one day closer to feeling like yourself.  No need in being miserable any longer.

I was off meds for about a year and relapsed. For me it was like starting over again.   If the side effects you had before were bad, maybe you should talk to your doctor about trying something else?

I think a lot of us at some point think we are well enough to go off the meds. Did you talk to your doctor first? Don't ever go off the meds without talking to your doctor or psych. (Not to be mean or judgemental, please don't think that) Don't quote me on this, but it may not take as long to get back into your system if you recently stopped taking them. The side effects might be the same though. Best of luck, and stay on them until the doc takes you off.
