Well, due to some problems I have been having with my back and migraines I had to make an appointment yesterday. I might have a pinched nerve, but I won't know for sure until I see a regular doctor on Tuesday the 4th. I went to a walk in clinic on Sunday because I was in a LOT of pain and they prescribed me some muscle relaxers and some pain pills to manage the pain until I could see a family doctor. So......... I called to make an appointment for my back and migraines and figured I should make one for my OCD(among other things) and she said I could talk to the same doctor and if needed, he could make a referral. I'm really excited, but also VERY nervous. Just thinking about going in makes me all anxious and my stomach hurts. I know for a fact I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT want to go on Paxil again since I had a lot of problems with it before, and I'm afraid to go back on Buspirone because I made me feel weird. I don't know. I'm just a mess I guess. Any advice or tips anyone could offer would be much appreciated! Thanks

I think you're making the right move, so try not to worry about what might happen. In order to make a change in your life you've got to start somewhere. There are lots of options for meds, it sounds like you just haven't found the right one yet. I'm on my third drug (Lexapro) and it seems to be working for me with few side effects. I've also had good success with Luvox. From what I've seen, family doctors tend to try Paxil as a first attempt. Maybe ask for a referral to a psychiatrist? A psychiatrist might be more familiar with a wider variety of meds to treat ocd. Good luck!
