I was just wondering if any of you ever noticed that maybe you were trying to be better or acceptable? How to explain ok, I keep washing and washing trying to be good enough for example I have never done anything right or gotten a complement from my husband in 29 years so sometimes I feel like I am just trying to do something right or good enough........does this make any sence to anyone else? I have also noticed that no matter how hard I try or what I overcome or what I accomplish it is never noticed it is only noticed what I did not overcome and what i did not do right does anyone else deal with that, how do you stay incouraged to work harder when your best is never perfect and therefor never enough? and by the way is there a spell check on this thing I can not spell or type worth a hoot!

You are sure doing some deep thinking! I like that! There is a lot of truth in what you are saying. My famiy really is never going to compliment me on how well I am doing unless I say "Hey, can I tell you the tiny victory I had today?" Then they usually are happy for me,(and also a little more in touch with the battle I am really fighting within myself.)Let them into your world. We try to hide too much.

Yeah, all they see is the negative. We have entered Family Counseling recently for another issue besides OCD. We are all seeing that we need to be saying encouraging words. I must first look at myself...because my OCD has meant that my kids and husband "don't ever do it MY way." They have been criticized and nit-picked to death by me.

Try to love yourself for who God made you to be. Accept yourself and you won't care so much what others think. I hope you find support here. You don't have to be perfect to be MY friend. I like flawed people.

your best is good enough, and i'm sure it's very apprieciated, but I know the feeling of it needs to be right.

Because you gave it your best and that should be enough.Of course you can keep practicing on something and learn to do it faster maybe even a little better but you are doing your best, you cant ask for anything more.If you do not think your best is good enough then practise until you are satisfied with your best.Dont like over do it though sometimes we cannot be exceptional at everything but thing is we tried.Things will never be perfect,we just got to understand that we did our best now we need to move on.You have to learn to appreciate yourself and what you do,it sounds like you are being to hard on yourself? If your husband doesnt see your trying then he is oblivious and you need to thump him on the head, and say hey I am trying here, a compliment every now and then would be appreciated.I do that to people sometimes especially the hubby if I did something real nice and he didnt notice. He notices things a lot now with less thumping haha *HUGGS*
