Since this is my first time on this site I am just finding my way.  I am suffering from OCD specifically  I self mutilate, I have small wounds  on my head and body which I do not let heal.  I eat Halls methol cough drops, and I really cannot stop eating them day and night.  I wonder if anyone out there has similar problems and what they do .  Bobby King

Welcome to the tribe!  I'm sorry you are suffering in this way.  I have a spot on the back of my head where I pull my hair out and have for years.  It is worse during times of stress, and right now I have a pretty nice bald spot going.  I have been seeing a psychiatrist since April.  He has gotten me on the right track as far as meds go, but I need to get started on CBT.  I have just had so much stress this year that i have had a hard time concentrating on taking better care of myself.  Do you have a good doctor or therapist?  I have heard that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the best thing to help people who self-mutilate.  When i was in high school, I had a friend who ate the Hall's mentholyptus drops constantly.  One time, she got in trouble and was put on restriction.  Her parents wouldn't let her leave the house.  She called begging me to go to the neighborhood convenience store to get her some Hall's because she was almost out.  I remember walking up there and getting them for her and taking them to her.  She was so relieved to get them.  She ate those things constantly.  I've never heard of anyone else doing that until now.  i wonder if that is considered a type of food addiction?  I hope you find help--I know it is out there.  Let me know how you're getting along.
