I got to thinking on my way back from my ocd support group, how many incidnets have contributed to me having ocd. I talked about a few of them during the group and that brought up some more ideas.

First of all, I had to head injurys when I was little that required stiches. Once on my forehead and then on the very top. I also had strep throught, (I heard that could contribute to it too) Then I had a extremelly stressfull incedent in 5th grade that was one of, if not, the worst day in my life. My grandma on my mom's side feels like she needs to have things planned out and be in control of everything, I have contol issues too ever since that day in 5th grade. Plus my aunt on my dads side has a little bit of hoarding ocd.

I was depressed more than usual about two days after the support group. I guess because I was accepting the fact more, that I do have ocd, and its no wonder. I think on the third day I felt a little more accepting of the fact that I do.

Life continues.

I got a concusion when I was little . . . had to do some crazy climbing on the mcdonald's playground.

I hope you're having a better day/week.  I've been fighting the idea of ocd for a while myself . . . so i understand where you're coming from.  At least with ocd we know some ways of defeating itSmile.  Drop in and let me know how you're feeling or if you need some encouragement.

My doggies say hello to your doggies!

Some of that sounds familiar, Stephen.  Like you, I've thought, "It's no wonder I'm ocd!" and that has allowed me to accept the idea a little more and just manage it like someone would manage diabetes.  Hang there!  It's April 1st, and despite it being a day of fooling, don't let your mind fool YOU! YOu can manage it and take control of your life.  We HAVE to... don't be robbed of one of your most precious assets... TIME.

Having ocd is depressing and overwhelming and a whole lot of things, that's true.  But I'm glad to hear you're accepting the fact that you have it, now you can fight it.  I think we've all gone through the denial before we could come to terms with it.  I wil be thinking of you and hoping that things go well for you.
