Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Hi there. I was diagnosed with OCD last year, and am told by everyone this is a case no one will share with me. I Despise bodily symmetry. I obsess over making sure nothing on my body is symmetrical, and most importantly that nothing in the environment i'm in divides me in two. The result is continuous violent images of myself being cut/torn in two vertically. Horizontal death would be okay. Vertically no. I even hate the word vertically because it triggers.. My compulsion: involves me running my hand/ clawing/ moving my hand from the back left of the top of my head to the front (basically scrambling my hair) to 'put myself back together' and 'ensure i'm not symmetrical'. I do the same to my chest/sternum area. I can't find myself vertically divided by walls, cracks, objects, lines, anything. So I find myself constantly monitering my environment, all while running my hand left to right left to right.

However those thoughts and actions aren't me. They are foreign, they are OCD issues, not me. They don't definte me.

Enough of that. I am a college student at Sam Houston State University (halfway done, whoop!) studing Political Science while minoring in Legal Studies and Philosophy. I am quite a nerd and plan on attending law school in 2015 and my longgg term goal is to run for a congressional seat. I love music and the arts, I love genuine people, and I especially love knowledge.

The arts, rather it be Music, Theatre, Visual Artwork, Film, Literature. I also enjoy gaming with friends, cooking, and studying (yes, even studying). I am also a fan of philosophy and politics.
