Hoping to get my life back on track-- its been a year since I have had a major episode and I keep telling myself I will never have another one!
I want to live my life instead of freaking out all the time.

After taking prozac 80mg for a few months mine mostly went away, however about 8 months after I stopped taking it, it came back. I am now back in therapy and on 40mg and probably gonna go up to try and deal with it.

Also, I agree with Babs 100%. But I do want to say if you need medicine don't hesitate to try it. If you don't need it, that's great.

Hi, From reading your message it doesn't sound like your OCD is too bad. I'm concerned though, wondering in you can really say no to the counting, repeating etc. or is it like one addicted to drugs, alchol etc. who tell themselves and others, "I can quit any time". Also, it sounds like you had a struggle with this a year ago - did it appear earlier in your life? It usually does. Whatever you do don't wait too long before seeking help with what you're going through - and don't beel isolated in this. Millions of us struggle with this. Don't give up there's all kinds of help out there. Life will be good for you again. Take Care

Welcome to the tribe. This is Babs. Go to my page anytime. I'm a mother of 3 young adults, 19, 20 ,25. Just explain this to your mom and doctor. They'll help you. I'm so glad you found this tribe, too. It's so helpful for all of us here. You sound positive, keep up those good thoughts, our brain is a mistery, the doctor says it does a loop de loop and that's why we can't get things together right. Some of the tribe has good books they read to help them. I have had my ocd for 30 years so now I'm older and hopefully wiser about this. It can be kicked without medicines. Some medicines can have side effects. If you can kick this without medicines you would be doing yourself a great help. Cognitive behavior therapy I heard was good. I like talking to a health professional and my faith in God through Christ is my all in helping me through my life. So take care and God Bless, Babs
