I was diagnosed with OCD in 2007 when I had a minor breakdown. I thought I had gone crazy and when I was diagnosed it opened my eyes to the truth. That I wasn't crazy and that I just needed help. For years I was on medication and I have just recently stopped taking it because I cannot afford it without health insurance. It has been a struggle and I am looking for people that understand what I am going through. My family only understands to a point, They don't quite understand that I cannot control it or that even when I know that I am being unreasonable that there is nothing that I can really do to stop the obsessions. My compulsions vary from mental rituals to physical. Sleeping is my biggest issue. I cannot let go and fall asleep, every sound I hear is something it is a catastrophe. The train down the road is a tornado, etc.
