The Wizard of OZ.
A helping hand for OCD.
Dorothy was this young girl that seems to be happy and have beautiful dreams. But, one day her life took a turn. She felt out of control and all she wanted to do was to runaway. On her journey away from everything, she met a man, that made her realize that her family and friends need her. So, She headed back home and found herself caught up into a twister.
After the twisted had stopped, she found herself far away from home, where everything was so different, leaving her lost and confused.
When she stepped out into this strange place, she was greeted by the little people and the Good Witch, it made her feel very welcome. But, then the Wicked Witch came and scared Dorothy. But, the Good Witch stood up for Dorothy and said to the Wicked Witch, " Be gone you have no power here." As the Wicked Witch started to leave, she frightens Dorothy by saying, "I'm going to get you my pretty, and you little dog too."
The Wicked Witch wanted the ruby slippers, but the Good Witch told Dorothy, "To hold tight to the slippers, because they must be very powerful." So the little people and the Good Witch told her to follow the yellow brick road.
On the road she met the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion. Although she knew she had a long way to go, she also knew that the Wicked Witch was always after her. So, She did what the Good Witch and the little people told her: follow the yellow brick road. When she got to the land of Oz, they worked on the outside of her. But, when she met the Wizard, he told her she had to do some work herself. She went back with her friends, to her scary place and stood up to the Wicked Witch. When she returned with her friends, to the Wizard, he awarded them for there achievements. But, when it came to Dorothy the Wizard didn't have anything to give her. He said, that he would take her home; instead he just flew away.
Dorothy returned to sadness again and thought she would never get back home again. Although her friends gave her all the love, courage and knowledge, with there new found heart, courage, and brains, no one knew how to get Dorothy back home again. Then suddenly the Good Witch came in. She asked Dorothy what has she learned. She explained in detail. Then the Good Witch told her that, she had the POWER all along. Then Dorothy was able to return back home.
This helps me with the OCD.
The ruby slippers: is faith that she is going to make it.
The Wicked Witch: is the OCD.
The Good Witch: is a counselor or teacher.
Home: is the place of understanding.
The yellow brick road: is recovery journey.
