Whoopsers... missing your "Steppin' Out" blog. THAT is how I am the last to find out :P

My moms was an elementary school teach and she scratches her head over stuff like this. Whatever are these edu grads being taught and then reinforced by the school district?

Yeah , she has problems if she damages a healthy kiddo like Otis' self-image. The public humiliation in front of his peers does no good whatsoever.

Too bad you can't keep it between you, the lil' Otis man and his teach. Do granmamas get to have teacher conferences? Seriously doubt it.

"Bikini" and "toilet" are necessary words if you have to ask your gf if she left her swim wear in the jon no?

I tried hagiis for the first time today and it tasted like liver vomit... grrrr... so much for trying to dispel the haggis tastes like poop myth...

hi pat,
sorry my computer wont let me leave a comment in the blog place anymore so I will do it here. regarding your "steppin' out", I hope things went well for you. many times such an event for me goes better than expected, so I come back and ask myself why was I so anxious about it. the amazing thing is that next time the event pops up I am just as nervous as ever, go figure. anyway, happy to see you steppin out. happy memorial day

I don't get anxious with people I know. I enjoy myself and actually like being around them. Strangers on the other hand... Nope.

Good my friend. Very good in fact. I am looking for some small thing I can send you but I don't have much spare time lately. Body is still getting used to working and my off time is spent resting mostly, or trying to accomplish chores. I LOVE the new tesco things. Lady bug lady bug lady bug lady bug

Hi Maryanne,

I had my heat on too. I don't remember it ever being this cold for Memorial Day weekend! I have been doing nothing all day and am still in my long johns. We all need a "do nothing day" now and again. Although lately I seem to have more of those than not. lol. :) Jane

Hey Pat,

Hope you enjoyed your batting practice. I have been putzing around my house which basically means I am being a bum today. It is too cold for me to work outside today. Do u have a Memorial Day parade in your town? We have a very hokey one here but at least they still throw candy at ya. I love candy... :)
p.s. when will you get your car back?

The concert was trying, as usual. Rick was with me, which made me depressed, I think. Anyway, I feel better today and had Otis to care for since early this morning. That gets long, too. But he just went home, so I have my time to myself, and, of course, Star. It is very cold, windy and raining, but I think I will go out for a short walk with Star anyway. I hate to be inside all day. Finished the Lincoln movie and I may have to watch it again. Did you see it yet?

Hi, I'm just wandering around in my nightgown, trying to get started with the day. The morning is probably my worst time (except shower time). I just can't get my act together.

How was the concert? I understand (from reading your comments) that you're going to be playing some ball with Otis - that sounds like good fun!

Well, I guess I'd better do something. I can't stay like this all day, for heaven's sake! Hope you have a good weekend. Maryanne

Hello, Just thought I'd stop by and say hi while I was in the neighborhood. Our furnace is running this morning, it's that cold here! By Tuesday it is supposed to be back in the 80's. Go figure! Seems like everyone's weather is turned upside down this year.

I'm not sure how to proceed with the day. I'm kind of at odds with myself right now. Guess the first thing is to get dressed...Maryanne

Hey Jane, What ya up to? I think I have another day full of responsibilities today. Yikes! Jessie and Elsie have to drive to Brattleboro to go to this event, a 5K for "Girls on the Run." The grand finale of the "Girls on the Run" program Elsie is in. So Otis will be staying home with me and he has his baseball practice I will take him to. He needs a parent, in this case a grand-parent, to partner up to and coach him one-on-one. Now, this sounds like something I can handle! I hate to leave Star at home, though. And we will be driving in the old Ruck jalopy. Down and dirty.

Do you attend many barnstomps, Nate? Maybe they do all suffer from systemic lupus whatever-you-said. They are all just afraid to bring it up. Anyway I am super pissed at the bully teachers at Otis's pre-K. When I picked him up yesterday, he was a mess, so crying with the tears rolling down his cheeks and trying to hold it back, all because the huge red-haired fatso teacher made him move his clothes pin clip down into the "yellow" from the "green" for punishment for using "bathroom talk". Turned out he used the words "bikini" and "toilet". Why torment a five year old with such crap? I am not fond of their behavioral mod techniques they use to keep their power over children...He was so devastated. He cried out in the car to me "Do you have to tell mom?". Oh, for Christ sakes...None of us care if he is in the yellow or says the word bikini. How about calling that woman a friggin' pain in the ass next time, Otis!

Concert?!?! I thought I was next on your orchestra card :P

Oh well, I will just be patient and wait for my number to come up.

Dang Pat C. Cline... What an interpretation of the Petty vid. Yes, yes. Rescue the damsel from the embalming ghouls. Take your love to the water... she may come back :)

How did Otisarama like the concert? Hopefully the visuals stirred his imagination while the music swirled in his noggin'

School is at midterm time and I have mega-testing next week. Is Nurse Pierce available for tutoring and heckling? :P

So when am I gonna use Systemic Lupus Erythematosis at a cocktail party or barnstomp? Dang pesky Greek and Latin based gobbledegook :P

Summer job: hmmm, how does strapping young (well, under-old) fieldhand sound? I can scare cicadas out of their wits.
