I have been a member of Depresssion Tribe for several years and have met and am in contact with many special friends there. Have fought a long, hard battle with depression, anxiety and OCD. I refuse to give up. It will not beat me. My Catholic Christian faith is very important to me and gives me the strength and hope to go on. Recently my OCD has significantly worsened. Just started seeing a very good OCD therapist. My OCD is mostly "obsessions"--that is mostly intrusive and very, very difficult thoughts such as religous thoughts, mean thoughts toward people I love and care about, "should and should not thoughts" --like I should do this or should not do this (like should not throw something in the trash). I know from my therapist and my reading on OCD that these thoughts "are not of me". I am a good, caring, giving and compassionate person. They are due to a biochemical problem with my brain. As my therapist tells me to say to them "They are not me just my OCD". I am also trying to just let these thoughts go as they come and refocus on what I am doing. These thoughts can be tortorous. I have joined this site to meet caring and supportive people with similar OCD problems mainly with thoughts. I am seeking friendship here and support and promise in return I will give the same thing to my friends here.

Sports, reading, nature, photography, exercise, my special cat Luke, music, God, positive people, my special DT friends.

Intruding thoughts, noise, negative people.
