disappearing profile pics?

My profile pic mysteriously disappeared last week.  Since then, I've noticed a few others have suddenly appeared "faceless" as well.  Did anyone else have the same experience I did?  If so, let me know, so we can inform the site admin. Or maybe the face police? Oh no, face pirates!

for some reason people come to my page to leave a comment. but if I look @ recent visitors it does not show them stopping by.
