..I thought of something else..have u been officially declared "disabled"?? know you said ur waiting on ssdi however if u have the paperwork to prove u are then guess what sportsfan?? that little s.o.b. titmouse broke federal law..go to "ada.gov" & read sections 2 & 3 which cover your rights..his effectively calling u a "loser" & "slacker" will have their company on the defensive with the USDOJ so damned fast it'll make their heads spin & needless to say lil' junior will be camped outside the unemployment office for his sins..fight "fire with fire" hun..a soft kinda touch never works with bullies like these & the only thing which sends 'em runnin' is the proverbial bloody nose..

..To laugh is to risk appearing the fool..To weep is to risk appearing sentimental..To reach for another is to risk involvement..To expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss..To love is to risk not being loved in return..To live is to risk dying..To believe is to risk despair..To try at all is to risk failure..But 'to risk we must, as the greatest risk in life is to risk nothing..The man, the woman who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing..

..Yes go the state attorney generals office route as skerl mentioned..you are protected from harassment by state & federal laws..in addition u can also make their lives very uncomfortable by going to "twitter.com" & writing a little nastygram of your experience with this company..most of these firms have people monitoring cyberspace for this kinda thing & if their public image is threatened its amazing how nice they can become..all boils down to $$ & cents & if u can hit 'em in the bottom line i.e. pocketbook that is the great equalizer..good luck

There is no reason for the collections person to be so hurtful.  I would call and complain to the company. Just because you are having financial troubles, it does not mean they have the right to treat you like dirt.  One trick I use is to get some leverage is to do a little research and see if your state has a consumer's complaint service.  In Texas, for example, it's apart of the state Attorney General's office. Find out the procedure on how to file a complaint. In Texas, you can do it online.  Once armed with this information, call the collections company with your complaint.  If you are not happy with their response, tell them you have done your research and you are going to file a complaint.  Give them details so they know you have done your homework. If you're still not happy, then follow through with the complaint.  They will spend a lot of time, effort and money fighting this.  If they are smart, they won't to risk getting involved in the whole mess. You are at least owed an apology!
