HI I haven't been on to much lately. I have been busy. I moved back home to Michigan and got a job. My OCD has been pretty good the last month (thankfully). But yesterday my sister said that you can get schizo by worrying about it/thinking about it. Is that true? That is one of my worries/obsessioins with OCD. I know its probably not true I think you are born with it but any answers would be great.

Thanks.

Schizo means that you have auditory and/or visual halucinations. I do not know how they come about. I think you could get more accurate information by googling it than by listening to your sister.

Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that usually manifests at age 21 or so. It is characterized by hearing voices or seeing things that don't exist. You neither have or will get schizophrenia

That's like saying you can get cancer by thinking about it. Of course not!! I think we can all make ourselves paranoid from time to time with worries, but this is just not right and I feel like she shouldn't have said that knowing that is one of your fears! I'm do happy to read you are feeling better. I hope you like your job! Working is a great distraction . Keep moving forward!
