Ok well this really weird thing has happened to me thats never happened before until yesterday. I have no idea why but when i try to say somthing i blurt at the number 16. I dont know why and its only happened about 4 times in the past 2 days and its never happened before. Im always counting in my head, usually from 9 to 16 but when i go to say words out loud, sometimes 16 comes out instead and i never see it coming. Im really scared about talking out loud in case it happens again, especially at school, so if anyon knows what it is and how long it will last it would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Hmm, yeah I would agree with Plep. It is a vicious cycle but try to not think about it too much :) I think it shouldn't last forever maybe it's just a way your ocd is acting up if you're particularly preoccupied or stressed.

Try to humor it like Plep said and (sorry plep if I knew your name I'd use it) if you ever do shout it out try to think of something clever or witty in your reasoning so your friends and classmates don't make you feel uncomfortable :) I know when my anxiety spikes up I start counting and adding numbers a lot. It's vexacious :( But stay spirited!

Good luck!!!

Find a truly original idea. It is the only way I will ever distinguish myself. It is the only way I will ever matter.

Ocd is about the what if occurring? dealing with the unknown. what would happen if u blurted out 16 in front of freinds most likely they would be puzzled or simply just laugh it off. its the anxiety we have in dealing with the unknown that in turn causes us even more anxiety and so the vicious cycle goes on. I believe with compulsions humour them it helps to take some of the edge anxiety brings with the unknown.

The known is limited the unknown is vast go into the unknown more and more BKS Iyengar
