I have been married to a wonderful women for 11 years who gave me 3 incredible children (2 boys and a girl; 8,6, and 2 respectively). I have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and a Master's Degree in Finance. I live in a suburb of Houston, Texas.

I have been dealing with OCD (Pure O) since I was about 13. It started with HOCD and has taken on various other forms throughout the years including: Religious OCD; POCD; SOCD; Excessive nail biting (until cuticles and fingers bleed); Obsession with being overweight (yes....I know I'm a dude); and on and on. I never really knew what was wrong with me until I bottomed out at 30 years old and had a breakdown. I became clinically depressed for several months with religious OCD (although I did not know what it was at the time)and finally sought help from a Psychiatrist. He thought it was depression at first because I did not fully describe all of the symptoms that I had encountered over the years (due to embarrasment and fear of what he might say). He put me on 20 mg of paxil and after 6 months I thought I had been "cured". I subsequently went off of the meds and several months later had a relapse. I went back on the meds for another few years and they continued to work so I didn't think too much about it until one day at work I became bored and started surfing mental health sites. When I came across information regarding "Pure O", I could not beleive what I was reading. These were classic symptoms that I had experienced for over 20 years. I am now seeing another therapist who I have opened up too and he has offically diagnosed me with Pure O. It was such a relief to find out that I am not the only person in the world with this problem. I feel very blessed as medication has done wonders for me and keeps my symptoms under control
