Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Hey!

I have had ocd since I was about 13. I think I had it a little before then but, it really came out at that age. I noticed one night I was scrapeing the side of my foot on the bed for no apparent reason. Thats when I first thought that something isn't right. I finally found out what it was in 2000. Its nice to know that I'm just not going crazy. This site has been a huge help! I'm looking for a friend who understands OCD and can relate.

I was healed of about 2/3rds of my obsessive thoughts in Fall of 2005!!! I went to this church where they do faith healings. I went down after they called people up front and the preacher laid his hands on me and said "From the top of your head, to the soles or your feet, be healed in Jesus's name." I felt a incredable warmpth and peace!! I also felt a "tightning" in my head!! It was a moment that gave me pure fullfillment!! I left that day a new man!! Changed by Jesus!! I went back about a year and a half later and he restored my self esteem and confidence!!

I would like to say that, basically, the only faith I had was enough to go and stand there. I had my doubts too. But it happend, Thank God!!!

I was very hesitant to put this up in my profile because I didn't want people to think that I am a "religious" person. I feel there is a lot of guilt and self-righteousness tied to it. It really irritates me when people tell other people that God hates them because they do this or do that, as if they are not a sinner also. They are just as loved by God as you are.

Family, art, my dog, exercising, gaming, movies, explosions, watching a storm off in the distance, windy days, seeing for miles from a high vantage point, cheese.

Spring and early fall weather, cuddling, being reconized for my art, finishing a long day at school or work, music. Whipped cream, pizza, and beer/wine.

Making fun of bad sci fi movies and old cartoons. Getting things done the right way, the first time. Money.

The anxiety of OCD, how I can't seem to "get away" from the intrusive thoughts, being taken advantage of, mornings, stress, cold, dreary winter days, when people have bad news, constantly being told what to do, when people feel they can judge you based a few bits of info they were told, when people use religion to make others feel guilty (ugh).

If I like it, I will listen to it.

Books .....what are those? lol I read a lot of art books. I read magazines too. I very rarley read books just for entertainment (like never).

Just read a REALLY good book called The Shack, it is the best one I have ever read!

I like comedys with Chris Farly and Jim Carry. I love the show Family Guy, its one of the funniest shows ever. The Spiderman, Batman, and Superman movies.

I also watch G4. Xplay, Simpsons, Mad TV, shocking reality video shows like When Animals Attack and funny video shows like Americas Funniest Videos. Attack of the Show, Reno 911. I like game shows too.

I love drawing. I just graduated from art school. My favorite subject is the face and body. I'm interested in cartooning and caricatures also. Art is a large part of my life. Running, doing P90X. Typing in the chat room here.
