Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

I'm 24 years old. I was diagnosed with OCD mid February 2007, but I have known to some extent that something has been wrong since I was probably 15.
Grown up in Minnesota my entire life, but I've been to a handful of other states, and a few other countries.
I have a fear of germs, and contamination, chemical products. Been that way as long as I can remember, and it's started to get worse in the past year.
Having a hard time putting life in perspective after this, and looking for other people like me to talk to. I know I am not the only one in the world with OCD, or with these particular obsessions and compulsions, but sometimes it sure feels like it. I just need someone who can actually understand the things going on inside my head, and know first hand what I mean without having to try to guess at it.

I love the movies. Actions movies, comedies, drama, usually even down for the sappy romantic ones. I like to read, even though I read half as fast as the rest of the world. I'm a big fan of ethnic cooking. I like eating new things and finding new tastes. I spend my fair share of time playing video games, computer or console. My music tastes are varied, I could probably pick out at least one song from any given genre that I like.

I like the smell of the rain. My favorite days are when it's overcast and wet. The sky is gray, but not actually raining, and it's just cold enough to feel cold but not actually need a jacket.
Mountain Dew is my vice.

Spiders...bugs and insects of all types really.
Can't stand tomatoes. Love tomato sauce, and ketchup...can't stand tomatoes themselves. ...they squish in your mouth and oh god it's revolting.

Currently listened to music is probably changing by the week.

Ender's Game, Sword of Truth

The 5th Element, Die Hard, The Matrix, Princess Mononoke, Star Wars, The Notebook, Alien, Rushhour, Beverly Hills Cop, Predator, A Walk To Remember, Must Love Dogs, America's Sweethearts ...so on and so forth I think I'll just quit now and not be here all night and day.

Going to the movies and collecting DVDs.
Playing some games with friends, online or on the couch.
When the weather is nice I enjoy a bike ride every so often.
I never really learned how to actually play Tennis, but sometimes I try to fake it.
More often than not, I am content with just sitting around and listening to music.
