OCD is as much a part of who I am as anything else. Without it, I wouldn't be me.
Everyone has something and this is mine. I've had OCD since I was born and only recently (2 years) started trying to deal with it through medication and therapy.
Only those who have OCD will understand exactly how much of our lives are consumed with the obsessions that are constantly there, in our minds, in our actions, influencing our lives.
At times I feel as though I am going completely insane and other times feel triumphant in dealing with the hurdles of the day.
I remember exactly the moment in time when I realized that OCD was within. The reality was like a ton of bricks raining down on me.
I often wonder what life would be like if I didn't know that the thoughts and actions were not "normal." Like they say "ignorance is bliss."
